WHAT IS RAKEBACK?
Poker rooms will typically take a 5% cut up to a maximum of $3 of every pot, and this is called the "rake". You will often see it being taken and stacked at the top of the table of the poker site you play on. However on many sites you are able to get a certain percentage of the rake back. Even players paying just $500 a month in rake can receive $1,800 a year back by signing up to a 30% rakeback deal. As you can see it soon adds up and if you havn't already got a rakeback deal you are missing out on a lot of free money!
This is where the rakeback affiliate comes in, if you sign up to a poker room through a rkeback affiliate you too could join the 1000's of other players already benefiting from rakeback. If you are already playing on a room it is usually the case that you won't be able to receive this deal however all is not lost you can often join another poker skin on the same network to benefit from rakeback whilst still playing against all the same players. What are you waiting for? sign up now for rakeback through one of our featured affiliates!
A "skin" is a poker room that uses another provider's software, but uses their own original graphical elements. For example, Eurobet is a skin of PokerRoom.com. That means the software provider is the same, but the design of Eurobet and PokerRoom are slightly different, especially the table view. Also it is common for two skins to have separate tournaments, promotions etc.
The group of skins creates a poker network. The obvious benefit to this is an increased player base, for example Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Poker form the Cereus Poker Network.
I AM FROM THE US, WHICH ROOMS AM I ALLOWED TO PLAY ON?
Due to the fairly recent US laws, American residents are prohibited from playing in many online poker rooms and many poker rooms have stopped accepting US customers. However there are still a number of rooms that do most notably PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, Bodog, Ultimate Bet, Cake Poker Network, Merge Gaming Network and Everleaf Gaming Network to name a few.
MGR stands for Monthly Gross Revenue. MGR is your share of the rake generated in pots you play minus any deductions the poker rooms take out. Deductions might include bonuses, deposit fees, store purchases or other in house promotions. Some poker rooms deduct all of those items as fees while others do not deduct any.
HOW DOES CLEARING BONUSES EFFECT RAKEBACK?
This varies from room to room. However at a large number of rooms bonuses are deducted from your monthly gross rake. This means that if you rake $1000 during a month and receives a $100 bonus - your new monthly gross rake becomes $1000-$100=$900 which is the amount you will receive XX% rakeback of. Therefore you still attain a higher effective rakeback rate when releasing a bonus.
EXAMPLE if XX=30% you receive $100 in sign on bonuses and $270 in rakeback giving a total of $370 whereas you would have received only $300 without the sign on bonus.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE RAKEBACK METHODS?
There are three different types of rakeback methods. The method used varies from site to site and will affect how much rakeback you will receive. The different types are:
1. Average contributed - The rake taken from the pot is divided equally between the players who contributed to the pot.
2. Weighted Contributed - The rake taken from the pot is divided between the players who contributed to the pot and their actual contribution to the pot.
3. Dealt - The rake taken from the pot is divided between all players who were dealt cards in the hand.
A Rake Race is a much simpler version of a Rake Chase. There are no checkpoints, it's simply a case of raking as much as possible in the alloted time. You will then get paid for your efforts depending on the payout structure of that particular race.
Rake Chases reward players for playing early and often. If you are among the first to reach a target amount of MGR, you will lock in a cash reward. Should you continue playing and beat a set amount of players to the next level, you will get progressively bigger rewards! Even if you miss out on the early prizes, you can still compete for all prizes that have not yet been rewarded!
The target amount of MGR, the number of target tiers, the number of players that qualify for a reward at each teir and the reward you receive when reaching targets vary from promotion to promotion.
Example - €31.5k Rake Chase
1st 60 players to rake €500 receive €75
1st 20 players to rake €2k receive €300
1st 12 players to rake €5k receive €1k
1st 6p layers to rake €7.5k receive €1.5k
